Muslim women wearing religious clothing has become a hot issue in the wake of terrorist attacks. In the West terrorist attacks are almost entirely carried out by men, non-Muslim men. Nevertheless, it appears that to reduce the threat of attack, Muslim women should uncover their faces. And in the case of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Burkini\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">burkini<\/a> remove their clothes. \u00a0If women revealing their faces lessens the risk, image the impact when applied to men. \u00a0So, t<em>o reduce terrorism, we should ban face coverings including the beard. Men should also walk around without their trousers. <\/em>That would align with terrorist profiling. So, if we ban the burka we must also ban the beard.<\/p>\n<h3>Terrorist Profile<\/h3>\n<p>Professor <a href=\"http:\/\/sociology.unc.edu\/people-page\/charles-kurzman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Charles Kurzman&#8217;s<\/a>\u00a0data shows that \u2018Since 9\/11, <a href=\"https:\/\/kurzman.unc.edu\/files\/2016\/02\/Kurzman_Muslim-American_Involvement_in_Violent_Extremism_2015.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Muslim-American terrorism<\/a> has claimed 69 lives out of more than 220,000 murders during the same period.&#8217; That is consistent with earlier <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fbi.gov\/stats-services\/publications\/terrorism-2002-2005\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FBI findings<\/a> that 94% of terrorist attacks were carried out by non-Muslims during a 15 year period.<\/p>\n<p><em>The situation is worse in Europe<\/em>!\u00a0 The European Union Terrorism Situation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.europol.europa.eu\/content\/european-union-terrorism-situation-and-trend-report-te-sat-2016\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Report 2016<\/a> says \u2018As, in previous years, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Separatism\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">separatist<\/a> terrorism accounted for the largest proportion [of terrorism], followed by jihadist attacks\u2019. In Europe, in 2013, there were 251 terrorist attacks. \u00a0Only two of those attacks &#8216;religiously motivated&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Experts have identified non-Muslim men carry out the vast majority of terrorist attacks. Overwhelmingly, they are pursuing separatist politics or are \u2018lone actors\u2019 like <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Anders_Behring_Breivik\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Anders Breivik<\/a>.\u00a0They \u00a0do not wear a niqab or burka. <em>Yet, Muslim women are a terrorist threat because they cover their faces and bodies<\/em>.\u00a0 It surely follows that men who cover their faces in public, with a balaclava, scarf, or beard are a terrorist threat too.\u00a0 Nor should they be covering up with long trousers. We don\u2019t know what they are hiding but we do know they are a high risk.<\/p>\n<h3>Freedom To Choose<\/h3>\n<p>I don\u2019t like the niqab or the burka, they are ugly and dehumanise women because it hides the human face.\u00a0 Nevertheless, I will stand up for the right of women to dress as they please.
