My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When I came across Laying Down The Paw, the third book in the Brigit and Megan series, all other books were put aside. Not only because of International Women’s Day on March 8th and this book is about two females. It is a laugh out loud and cheerful book. I would suggest beginning with book one; to get all the laughs and the back story, but it is not necessary. Each book stands alone.

The series follows the trials and tribulations of police Officer Megan Luz and her canine partner Brigit. It is Megan’s ambition to become a detective and Brigit’s to eat, but they manage to solve murders. Normally the dog handler is in charge, but Brigit and Megan have different ideas on who is the boss. There is a love interest, jogging along at comfortable pace.

I will not spoil this book, but there is one scene were my fellow commuters thought I had lost the plot. It is a well written amusing scene where Megan and Brigit find themselves outnumbered by the bad guys. I say no more other than I laughed out loud.

Brigit and Megan cheer me up no end. The books are amusing, light and thoroughly enjoyable. They should carry a health warning; they are addictive.

I would recommend this series. A bit of cheese and laughter never hurt anyone.
