Roland Frolander is accused of one of the worst acts a human can commit, molestation of a child. Under no circumstances is that acceptable. Not ever, not even under the guise of child brides. But the rule of law should hold accountable Jason Browning, the father who assaulted the eighteen year old Roland Frolander, leaving him battered, bloodied, bruised and beaten unconscious. Most people would understand the actions of Jason Browning, the father of the eleven year old victim who it is alleged was sexually abused by Frolander.
Taking the law into one’s own hands is in no one’s interest.
I am not suggesting I would not act in a similarly violent manner, but I do not expect that my actions should go unchecked. Taking the law into one’s own hands is in no one’s interest. I cannot find that a big muscular adult man beating an immature weakling unconscious is justice, though I understand why it happened. I think we as a society should worry that no charges where brought. Mr Browning should have been called to account for his actions in a court of law. Mr Browning could have been acquitted, I go so far as to say, he probably would have been acquitted but if we don’t call the actions of Mr Browning to account, we are sending out a very poor message and accepting the dispensation of personal justice and that is very frightening and very dangerous.
